Blockchain Qualities

Verify selected records without one operator.

A Bitcoin transaction can be validated by independently operated nodes following compatible rules. That distribution can reduce reliance on one party for a specific settlement record. It does not make a game’s identity provider, live-service backend, art pipeline, customer support, or community governance decentralized. Those responsibilities need their own operators and their own failure plans.

For Gaming

That distinction matters in player language. A studio should say exactly what is decentralized: perhaps settlement verification or the ability to validate a public transaction. It should not imply that every asset, match, or service has escaped studio control. The design value is resilience and inspectability for a chosen boundary, not a blanket replacement for accountable game operations. Consider custody, outages, moderation, and support before using the word as a player promise.

Game Logic

Game Essentials

Run rules, events, and responses.

Game logic turns player choices and system conditions into consistent rules, state changes, and responses. It defines what can happen, when it happens, and how edge cases are handled so that the game remains understandable and testable.

For example, in a turn-based dungeon game, logic can resolve movement, check whether a tile is blocked, apply damage, and advance the enemy turn in a fixed order. A deterministic rule sequence makes a replay easier to inspect and prevents a visual effect from accidentally deciding the underlying result.

Accounts

Blockchain Essentials

Connect player identity and wallets.

An account links a player or service to the credentials and wallet relationships needed for a game flow. It can support sign-in, permissions, and transaction history, but it does not automatically solve custody, privacy, recovery, or identity verification.

For example, a strategy game could let a player sign in with an email account, then optionally connect a Bitcoin wallet to claim a tournament prize. The game can keep matchmaking and profile data in its service while asking the wallet to authorize only the payment or claim that needs it.
